Shopping abounds in the High Country, and Bear Den Campground puts you right in the middle of it all! Tanger Outlets In Blowing Rock NC has over 30 brand name outlet stores directly off the Blue Ridge Parkway. With brand names including Coach, Liz Claiborne, Nine West, Banana Republic, Gap, Izod, J. Crew, Ralph Lauren, and Bass, you can shop till you drop at the Tanger Outlets Blowing Rock NC! The Blowing Rock Outlets features seasonal specials such as the Tanger Cure Card which, through the purchase of a specially designed Tanger gift card, helps fight against all cancers. If you are looking for a charming shopping experience in the High Country, Boone NC Shopping is just the place. King Street in downtown Boone NC features antiques, furniture, fashion boutiques, a Mast General Store, Boone Drug Store featuring old-fashioned soda fountain, book stores and other arts and handicrafts. For a more conventional shopping experience in Boone, the Boone Mall is conveniently located and includes Belk, JC Penney, TJ Maxx, and other recognized chains and local shops. The annual trade show of the Boone Area Chamber of Commerce and other festivals, shows, and holiday functions are often hosted in the Boone Mall.

The original Mast General Store is located in historic Valle Crucis. Opened in 1883, Charles Kuralt proclaimed the original Mast General Store “a destination.” Take a magical step into the history of the High Country and learn why it was the center of commerce in the 1900s advertising and offering everything from “Quality Goods for the Living, Coffins & Caskets for the Dead.” Children will delight in the old fashion candy shop and you can even mail a postcard home from the old fashioned post office in the Mast General Store, Valle Crucis.

For Banner Elk shopping, the Emporium Shoppes At the Village boasts retailers of fine ladies clothing including BJ's Resort Wear and Almost Rodeo Drive. Baltzley's Jewelry and Bayou Store, which offers everything from wine to books to unique gifts, and Larson's Fine Furniture are among the other specialty stores at the Emporium Shoppes At the Village. For fine dining, restaurants such as Bayou, Sorrentos and Corner Palate are also located in this area.

Little Switzerland NC offers a unique shopping experience in its one-of-a-kind main street center. Trillium Gallery offers American handcrafted jewelry, pottery, stained glass, wood, metal and other decorative artist crafts. The Gem Shoppe has gems, minerals and beautiful jewelry.

Hearthside Handmades carries garden commodities, including birdfeeders and birdhouses. The shop carries many things for the garden, including rustic bark birdfeeders and birdhouses. Simple Pleasures gift shop features everything from t-shirts and to jewelry and glassware.
